The Super-Sexy Side of Paranormal

BIG NEWS!!!
Seth’s story, The Tudor Revival (Calum’s Curse: Ultima Bellum) is available now! For those of you unfamiliar, this book is the third in the trilogy. I thought I’d share a blurb and excerpt today.
Oh, I almost forgot. To celebrate the completion of this trilogy I decided to make The MacLomain Series FREE this weekend at Amazon!!! Click HERE to find The King’s Druidess-Prelude, Fate’s Monolith (Book I), Destiny’s Denial (Book II) and Sylvan Mist (Book III). Books are free Saturday and Sunday, July 7th and 8th.
Alright, it's time to share more about Seth’s tale…
Is it true love... or is this dark need part of the Tudor's Revival?

A man stuck between worlds.

Ghost hunter and dare-devil, Seth, is flung into the afterlife. His one draw to reality? Alana. He died. She lived. But he can't let go. There is something more than friendship between them and he won't say goodbye.

A woman drawn to the past.

The last thing Alana expects to encounter when she inherits her grandmom's Tudor Revival is the spirit of her deceased best friend and crush, Seth. But everything is not what it appears to be. He is determined to live again. When his investigative team, The Worldwide Paranormal Society shows up at her door, Alana soon learns that she's in for a wild ride.

Calum's curse visits one more house. Things get hotter and more paranormal than ever before. Love, as always, struggles to overcome the odds. Time is limited though and the creature set to destroy Seth and
Alana is the most cunning of all.

Will Alana and Seth face humankind's worst fear and survive? Find out in The Tudor Revival.

EXCERPT:
Well, if she thought they were back to normal, fine. He swam over, stood and braced his hands on either side of her shoulders. Very slowly, her eyes opened. Oh yeah, his Alana was back full throttle. She didn’t look shocked nor did she bat a lash.
“You’re standing a little too close.”
He leaned his face closer. “So?”
“Friends,” she said carefully.
But he didn’t miss the catch in her voice. Or the way the gold of her iris’s flared to life. “Right.”
Slowly, inch by inch, he let his eyes wander down her body and licked his lips.
“Stop,” she whispered.
His eyes shot to hers. “Stop what?”
“You know what.”
“Did you hate what we did on the rock face yesterday?”
“You know I didn’t. But we talked about this. It’s just not a good idea for us to be more than friends.”
Seth ran the back of one of his fingers down her arm. “I wouldn’t mind being both.”
“Never works out well,” she said softly.
He enjoyed the way her chest heaved as he continued the lazy stroll with his finger. “Maybe not with other men.”
Despite the freezing water his cock was working with him. It wasn’t his style to sit back and not take what he wanted but for some reason, he needed her to come to him this time. He wanted her to want it as much as he did. Though only a foot or so remained between them, she did nothing to close the distance. He’d almost bet she would back up if she could.
“And don’t forget,” she reminded. “You don’t have a miraculous condom on you this time.”
He shrugged and leaned in a little bit closer, eyes on her lips. “I don’t need a condom to kiss you.”
Alana’s eyes widened then flickered to his lips. “With you it doesn’t stop at a kiss.” She shook her head. “Besides, it’s not a good idea for friends to kiss. Sort of defeats the whole purpose.”

Does Possession Exist? The Vatican Thinks So.

Did you know that the Vatican put out a plea for exorcists last year? It was all over the news. Pretty alarming, eh? Makes one wonder. What do they know that we don’t?
I’ll admit it. I’ve always been intrigued with the idea that a spirit or demon might actually be able to possess a human being. Though a far-fetched idea, it’s one that deeply penetrates societies all around the world. As a true-blue control freak, the concept makes me want to run in the opposite direction. However, based on ample research and a steadfast belief in the paranormal, I feel... no matter where you go there you are. If it wants you, it'll have you. Or at least try.
Yep, I watched the movie Exorcist as a kid. Freaked me the heck out! But I knew it was fake. Had to be. Right? But there was always that nagging voice in my head asking, “What if it wasn’t? What if that sort of thing actually happens?”
I know what you’re thinking. Or at least what crossed my mind initially. The Vatican might have done what they did to keep up the belief in demons which essentially makes the church super essential. But that’s a hard pill to swallow. After all, it attacks their integrity. Another genuine possibility? They did it because they’re being inundated by things outside of our comprehension. Good ol’ paranormal activity! And not necessarily demons.
Either way, I truly believe in two things. The first, that the Vatican and Catholic faith is truthful. They would NOT lie. Second, the paranormal does indeed exist.
The list of documented possessions is long. Amongst the most famous, Amityville and Maria Rossi. These are extreme cases and always open to interpretation. Kinda sorta. Scary stuff!
Regardless, it was because of my interest in this topic that I implemented it into my latest novel, The Tudor Revival (follows The Georgian Embrace). What a slippery slope I’ve gone down writing this book though. It’s a tough thing building characters when they’re being possessed. I’m dealing with not only multiple characters but a whole lot of voices in my mind! I know, I know, we writers should have that concept nailed. Nonetheless, we usually don’t have to do it with our hero and heroine.
So why did I post about this? Because I'm curious and my questions are not those that are typically asked of readers and writers alike. What do YOU think about the concept of possession? COULD it exist? DOES it exist? Or is it just a nutty concept that holds no grain of truth in this reality. Say it how you see it... or don't. *winks*

Do you Believe in Big Foot? Nessie? Chupacabra? Yeti?

Since I was a kid, I've been fascinated by cryptozoology. I think I've seen every documentary there is on Big Foot and have studied the famous video of the Sasquatch walking. Do I believe in Big Foot? I do! And yeah, I've heard all the debate against the existence of the hairy creatures. We'd have found a dead one by now, or bones or we'd have captured more on video or in the wild. Or we'd have found their poop. Heard it all. I don't care. I still believe in them. I think they are a highly evolved ape and that's it. An elusive, private creature. Just an undiscovered ape that doesn't drag his knuckles.

I also believe in the Loch Ness Monster.

And the Chupacabra.

Seriously! I think the Loch Ness Monster is a prehistoric water dinosaur. Heck, the alligator is pretty dang prehistoric!

And the Chupacabra? I think it's some kind of hairless wolf.

So, do you believe in any of these creatures? Have you seen any of them? I'd love to hear!

I'm so in love with the Bigfoot Legend that I included it in my latest release, Canyon Wolf Bride. Find out how cryptozoologists discover a species of wolves thought to be extinct at the bottom of The Grand Canyon.

Shapeshifters in the News!

COMING MARCH 2012 for your Kindle and your Nook!

King’s Cross Station, London, England, 2006
-“He’s killed again, Vex.” Vex stared at the grainy black and
white photos, taken one hundred and eighteen years earlier, comparing them to
the full color photos taken overnight. Detective Red O’Malley had no choice but
to ask for his help. Vex was their last resort. He was used to dealing with the
undead, whether it be of the blood sucker variety or the elusive shifter-rapt,
after all, he was a combination of the two.

Vex Savaker works as special detective for the Metropolitan Police and has been called to work on the recent Whitechapel killings. The murders resemble the autumn killings of 1888 when Jack the Ripper terrorized London. Chastity “Chass” Bartholomew is a seasoned investigative reporter working for London’s newspaper, The Daily Mirror. Chass’s virgin status is far too dangerous with a modern day Jack the Ripper on a virgin killing spree. Nunhead Cemetery is a hotbed of paranormal activity and unexplained phemomena but Chass is just too good of a reporter to stay away. Can Vex protect her from the night creatures of London and steer the killer away? Can he protect her from his own dark side, from the beasts within?

Character Blowout! Debra A. Soles, TALKERS

I’m thrilled to welcome over Paranormal/Syfy Romance’s first official guest, author Deborah A. Soles. Part one and two is a character interview hosted by me (Sky Purington). Part three is an author interview hosted by Skhye Moncrief.
So grab your drink of choice, sit back and enjoy. You’re going to LOVE this!
A bit about the book TALKERS
When the safety of Ritter’s band is compromised by stalkers his uncle recommends Shayle to protect the band and catch the stalkers. Though famous, talented, gorgeous young men, they have a secret from their past that makes them who they are and fuels a nasty stalker problem. When Ritter decides Shayle is the love of his life, how will she ever resist him.
PART 1: Time to interview the heroine, Shayle Forester!
SKY:  Tell us a little bit about you.
SHAYLE:  Since I was old enough to walk, I’ve been in constant residence in my father’s hanger bay. There hasn’t been a ship that has come in for service that I hadn’t touched or fiddled with in more years than I care to remember. Now in my early thirties there isn’t a fighter plane or cargo ship I can’t take apart and put back together even better than it was before.
Along the way I’ve lost most of my femininity, replacing it with threadbare automotive jumpsuits and lean muscles from hoisting motors and transmissions. There were even a few time I’ve been forced to use those muscles to defend myself and my father’s business from drunkards and even loan sharks trying to reposes a client’s plane. It’s given me a well known reputation for being not only a top notch mechanic and pilot, but also a woman who could easily take care of myself.
As soon as my years learning at the Academy were over, I came back home. I married a comrade from school and had the biggest joy of my life, my son George. Unfortunately, my husband was a womanizing cheat and our marriage didn’t last very long.
After my divorce, I stayed on to work at my father’s mechanic shop, Bishop’s Aviation. Living in my childhood home with my father and son, I was happy with my routine and more than happy to avoid another messy relationship. That was until he walked in and changed everything.

Something Crashed. UFO's or Earth History?

Stole this off of Sky’s FB. It’s out there but hell, why not share?

Divers find large, unexplained object at bottom of Baltic Sea By Eric Pfeiffer

A team of salvage divers has discovered an unexplained object resting at the bottom of the Baltic Sea near Sweden.

"This thing turned up. My first reaction was to tell the guys that we have a UFO here on the bottom," said Peter Lindberg, the leader of the amateur treasure hunters.

Sonar readings show that the mysterious object is about 60 meters across, or, about the size of a jumbo jet. And it's not alone. Nearby on the sea floor is another, smaller object with a similar shape. Even more fascinating, both objects have "drag marks" behind them on the sea floor, stretching back more than 400 feet.

"Could this be the Star Wars Millenium Falcon, a plug to an inner world or a marine version of Stonehenge?" asks CNN's Brooke Bowman

Well, it could just be another shipwreck. Or, mud.

But Lindberg says the ship theory doesn't really hold up because of the unusually large size of the objects. "Of course it would be something from another ship but it's quite big," he told CNN. Lindberg notes that some observers have speculated that the objects may be Russian warships built around the end of the 1800's. However, Lindberg points out that not only were those ships much smaller, they were not patrolling the Baltic during that era.

The Baltic Sea is a literal treasure trove for salvage teams and a "shipwreck laboratory" for researchers. The sea's low salinity levels help preserve objects that sink to the bottom. "Right now, we know about 20,000 objects, mostly shipwrecks, in the Baltic Sea. But I think there may be more than 100,000," said sonar expert Ardreas Olsson, "I'm not sure what you will see when you go down. But I'm excited. It's going to be interesting to see what it is."

The Ocean Explorer team first made their find back in August and had no plans to return to the scene. For now, Lindberg is waiting for calmer waters in the Baltic, possibly in May, before taking his salvage team to the bottom for a closer look at the mysterious objects. They originally had no plans to return to the spot, but the spike in interest from the public has led them to begin planning a return trip.

Sex with a Ghost? The Georgian Embrace.

It's been a bit since I posted here but HAD to share the cover for Devin's story, The Georgian Embrace (Calum's Curse: Acerbus Lycan). My cover artist, Tamra Westberry did a fabulous job. Love it!

As all are probably figuring out, this blog can run somewhat x-rated. Hope you don't mind. But seriously, we do Paranormal and Syfy here. It's edgy, naughty and should always make your eyes go round. SO, I decided to share an unedited excerpt from The Georgian Embrace. This particular scene focuses on the supernatural intimacy between Devin and Isabel. I know Devin wouldn't appreciate it but I adore the strawberry-dried-in-his-hand moment. Boy needs to stop taking fruit to bed!

(Please NOTE: If you have an aversion to sex scenes, stop reading here. *grins*)

Lightning flashed. A rumble of thunder bubbled overhead. Heavy raindrops hit the window. The curtains blew in on a warm gust of wind and swept across Devin’s shoulder.

Cracking open an eye, he realized he’d fallen asleep with the near empty bowl of fruit on his stomach and a half eaten strawberry in his hand. Another flash of lightning revealed that he’d stripped down to nothing. Unreal. What sorta guy ate a bowl of fruit alone minus clothes?

After he peeled the half dried, sticky strawberry from his hand he put it in the bowl and placed it on the table next to him. About to sit up, Devin froze when something brushed over his palm. Another gust of wind blew through the open window and the sheer curtains floated in. With a heavy blink, he stared closer. Was that Isabel standing beside them?

When he blinked again, she was gone. Had she even been there? Lord knows, he wanted her to appear.

“Isabel,” he whispered. “Are you here?”

Something brushed over his palm again. This time it felt warm…almost like a tongue. Suddenly, he got the impression she was there, licking the juice. Though he stared at his palm, there was nothing there. His cock didn’t believe him and began to stir to life.

Taking a deep breath, Devin repeated, “Isabel, are you here?”

Thunder clapped again overhead but he swore he heard her whisper, “yes.”

Devin’s mouth fell open when he felt a hand graze the side of his face, neck, then collarbone. The air chilled. His skin heated. Hands placed by his side, he didn’t move a muscle. He’d heard of ethereal sex but…seriously? Could it really exist? The thought of Isabel’s ghost taking advantage of him just about made him release then and there.

Lips. Warm. Trailing across his chest. Devin closed his eyes. Holy shit! He was beyond ready. But for what exactly? Sex with residual energy? He almost laughed but didn’t when a tongue flicked his nipple. He arched. Hell that felt good. Open your eyes. See if she’s there. But he didn’t want to. Why risk her vanishing? The tongue swirled away from his nipple, down the center of his mid-drift. It didn’t matter if his eyes were open−they were rolling back in his head.

“Aye,” he whispered. “Yes.”

Soft hands on his hips. Thighs. Climbing. Tongue going lower. “Yes!”

Then nothing. Devin opened his eyes slowly. “Isabel?”

Another flash of lightning. Another clap of thunder. Rain poured harder. Where had she gone? Was she trying to manifest energy to do this to him? He knew damned well an electrical storm could aide in manifestations. But how could he help? He had a good idea how...
